The frameless rearview mirror. Such a small detail that makes a huge difference. Every time you look behind you, you feel like you accidentally stole a concept car.

1) Photog needs to adjust their damn watch band
2) I’ve never seen a frameless mirror with a frame. Volvo sure is fancy.

Which one? The guy inside or the sad-looking indian fellow outside?

As a tall person, that large plastic appliance behind the mirror is problematic. Rearview mirrors already create a huge blind spot for me. That looks like a nightmare to me.

And if you want to be pedantic we’ll just call it the “glass goes all the way to the edge” mirror.

The guy inside wielding the camera.

As another tall person, it didn’t bother me. The XC90 actually has a huge amount of headroom so the mirror isn’t at eye level like on most cars.
Also it is presumably optional since that’s what houses the “don’t hit moose” cameras.

The difference between this photo and the one in your original post is like night and day.

A lot of manufacturers are doing this with their mirrors now. Cadillac is the one that sticks out in my mind. I think VW/Audi is too?

S60s have had them for years. They are very nice, and they're easier to clean since you can wipe edge to edge completely.

GM has had it in the Camaro since 2013(?), also. I’m not sure which others.
